Good news for anybody who has to drive to and park in Manchester City Centre. Even if that is only free for a short period. The city council has ended it’s relationship with the current car park operators NCP. From then on, they will be run by the council in house. Read on to find out about Manchester centre free parking, when it starts, ends and what happens after that.
When Does Is Manchester Centre Free Parking Apply?
Free parking will start on Friday 1st January and end on Thursday 7th January. From Friday 8th January you will need to pay for parking before leaving your vehicle. The council state that all car park charges will remain the same for the foreseeable future.
Payments from Friday 8th January
From 8 January 2020 you will need to pay on arrival. You can pay by the PayByPhone App or at the ticket machine. Please note that all payments cannot be made with cash. You must have paid for your parking before you leave your vehicle in the car park. Payment details about any future changes to hourly or day rates will be available at each site.
