“…speculation about the future of the Post Office at Winstanley Shopping Centre is circulating on social media. I have received the following reply from The Post Office.
“Unfortunately the operators of Winstanley Post Office, Martin McColl, have recently resigned and given us notice to exit their Post Office contract. Their notice period runs until January 2021.
We are committed to retaining Post Office services for our customers in the area and are beginning the search for a new retail partner who would be willing to incorporate the Post Office into their existing business or any new retail venture. The business opportunity will shortly be advertised on our website and my colleagues will be visiting the area to speak to existing retailers about the Post Office opportunity.
The current Post Office will continue to operate during Martin McColls notice period and we will do all we can to find a new retail partner and maintain Post Office services to the community in Winstanley.
